ACIA OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY

• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations and standards, and where these do not exist, apply standards that reflect our performance commitment.

• Continuously involve employees, contractors and visitors in the improvement of occupational health and safety performance.

• Ensure employees, contractors and visitors are informed of and understand their obligations in respect of the implementation of this Policy.

• Ensure that those who provide services to the company, but who are managed by other institutions, are aware of this Policy and our desire to eliminate harm to all involved.

• Provide appropriate training to employees, contractors and visitors on occupational health and safety.

• Audit and analyse risks related to occupational health and safety in ACI workplaces, and quickly put in place risk mitigation measures to achieve risks that are as low as reasonably practicable.

• Learn from any safety incidents that may occur, and quickly put in place measures to ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, similar incidents do not occur again.

• Seek to do business with like-minded organisations that have appropriate safety policies in place and record our safety performance and report on it via leading and lagging indicators.

A SAFETY REMINDER

 

The below safety video has been created by Jacobs Engineering in the UK following the tragic death of a staff member, John Kinns, who was fatally injured while taking design measurements on a country road bridge when his metal tape measure came into contact with railway power lines not visible from the bridge parapet. The video sends a powerful message about the importance of safety and constant vigilance that we hope you can use in your workplace.
